Ugu South Coast Tourism celebrates Youth Month with sponsorship of Esayidi TVET laptops
Ugu South Coast Tourism handed over five laptops to the Esayidi TVET College’s Gamalakhe Campus Tourism unit for use by the students in their research and other projects.
Justin Mackrory, CEO of Ugu South Coast Tourism, said that the organisation is grateful for the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the education of our youth during Youth Month.
“Ugu South Coast Tourism has a close working relationship with the Esayidi TVET College in Gamalakhe, and supports their dedicated efforts to preparing the youth for a career in Tourism.”
The Head of the Travel and Tourism Unit, Nomonde Jabe, expressed the College’s deep gratitude “Ugu South Coast Tourism has over the years contributed, with the sincerest commitment, to the College’s mandate of working towards the betterment of young lives.” She added that the organisation’s support has repeatedly played a key role in their success in teaching and learning at the Gamalakhe Tourism Unit.
Ugu South Coast Tourism was initially going to sponsor the top tourism students at the college with tuition fees worth R20,740.00, but following the move towards free tertiary education, the entity’s Board decided to sponsor the College with laptops for use by the students, to the same value.
Ugu South Coast Tourism said it is confident that the laptops will assist the tourism students as they prepare for projects and exams and to further their understanding of the digital environment, the rich travel and tourism landscape and the opportunities therein.
