Onguma launches Namibia’s first walking trails camp near Etosha

The new Onguma Trails Camp launches on 1 April 2025. This intimate, eco-friendly glamp-camp offers a two-night walking trail experience that can be extended to three nights – delivering a perfect balance of adventure and Onguma-style comfort.

The experience

With just four en-suite glamping bell tents, the camp accommodates a maximum of eight guests. Each tent features extra-length beds, sumptuous bedding, a private ensuite outdoor bathroom with a hot bucket shower, and compostable eco-toilet. Guests can unwind in front of their tent or in their private wood-fired hot tub, soaking in the sights and sounds of the wilderness.

Extend to three nights

Guests extending their stay can enjoy an additional day of exploration, and they can either begin their day with a 6 to 8 kilometre guided walking safari through a riverbed, building on their bush skills and deepening their knowledge of the natural environment, or depart on a Sunrise Drive.

Sundowners and a delicious three-course dinner with insights from Onguma’s conservation team complete the evening experience.

On the day of departure, enjoy an early-morning walk before breakfast.

Onguma is renowned for taking these experiences to the next level, and guests can also opt to stay at any of the five Onguma lodges for a post-trail experience.

Eco-luxury meets conservation

Onguma Trails Camp embodies the reserve’s eco-conscious ethos, featuring solar power, bio-friendly toiletries and sustainable practices to minimise environmental impact while providing a memorable guest experience.
