Condé Nast Traveller’s 2023 Reader’s Choice Awards have voted Cape Town the fourth-best large city in the world. More than 520 000 readers submitted responses rating their global travel experiences to offer a comprehensive look at the places they eagerly anticipate revisiting. This saw the Mother City rank highly in the category of cities with a population of over 500 000.

Each year, Condé Nast Traveller garners input from hundreds of thousands of readers to determine the winners of its Readers’ Choice Awards.
Other cities nominated alongside Cape Town include Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul and Sydney, all of which made the top five in this category. The 2023 Reader’s Choice Awards are published on Condé Nast Traveller’s website and celebrated in the November 2023 issue.
